Ahead of the June drop of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, which marks the seventh entry in the larger Hasbro-inspired franchise, Paramount has given fans a new trailer offer the most in-depth look yet at Steven Caple Jr.’s new film.
“For centuries, our kind has stayed hidden on Earth,” a voice tells us and Optimus Prime in the opening moments of the new trailer. “But darkness has found us again. Prime, this is about the fate of all living things. Unicron is coming.”
From there, we’re told this story (a direct sequel to the events of Bumblebee) is set in 1994. We’re also given looks at the film’s stars, Dominique Fishback and Anthony Ramos. Rounding out the main live-action cast are Lauren Vélez and Tobe Nwigwe. Those contributing voice talent to the roster of Autobots, Maximals, and Terrorcons include Pete Davidson, Peter Cullen, Michelle Yeoh, Ron Perlman, Peter Dinklage, and more.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts hits theaters on June 9. See the new trailer up top.
Star Dominique Fishback is currently fresh off the release of the acclaimed Prime Video series Swarm, co-created by Donald Glover and Janine Nabers. Earlier this month, this writer spoke with production designer Sara K White about the unique challenges and artistic rewards stemming from bringing Fishback’s character, Dre, to the screen.
