We've been hearing about Martin Scorsese's The Irishmanwhich quite enticingly teams Robert De Niro with both Al Pacino andJoe Pesci, for some time now. And with each new bit of information from the production that's trickled down into headlines, we've come one step closer to a day in which we would mercifully receive a proper teaser trailer for the revered director's latest crime drama.

That day is today. Up top, catch the new The Irishman trailer. The movie opens this fall in select theaters and on Netflix. It will also open the New York Film Festival in September.

The presumed hit, based on the novel I Heard You Paint Houses by Charles Brandt, boasts a script from Moneyball's Steven Zaillian and lays out its post-war meditation on organized crime from the perspective of hitman Frank Sheeran (De Niro). From there, the still-baffling disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa enters the story, which notably spans several decades with some digital de-aging assistance.

The Irishman also stars Jesse Plemons, Bobby Cannavale, Anna Paquin, Harvey Keitel, Ray Romano, and more.

TellingThe Hollywood Reporter just how long it took to bring the film to fruition back in April, De Niro pointed to the strength of the source material as integral to how they werer able to pull it off.

"It's a terrific book…I read it and I said, 'Marty, you should read this book because I think maybe this is what we should try and [do]," he said at the time, noting that he and Scorsese "started this whole process in 2007."
