That Inevitable 'Deadpool' Sequel May Actually Become 'Cable and Deadpool' Instead

Ryan Reynolds recently surprised fans with a free screening.

Deadpool, having already earned its own buzz by getting banned in China for being too Deadpool-y, is clearly due for a sequel or even a full-blown franchise of its own. Disregard the fact that Deadpool, at least for everyone who wasn't lucky enough to catch that pair of surprise screenings on Tuesday, still hasn't been released. Focus instead on this very hypeworthy name: Cable.

Ryan Reynolds teased a Cable and Deadpool movie during a quick Q & A session after Tuesday's New York screening, delivering some very promising words after fans started screaming things like "Sequel!" and "Cable!" and other commands. "Your lips to God's ears, my friend," Reynolds said after someone shouted a specific bit of Cable and Deadpool enthusiasm, ComicBook.com reports. "Believe me, that's being talked about."

Of course, Deadpool director Tim Miller has hinted at some Cable action before, telling Empire back in August that a theoretical Deadpool 2 that didn't include Cable would likely get everyone involved "run out of town on a rail." However, given the nature of Reynolds' hilariously not subtle hint, Deadpool 2 is starting to sound a lot more like Cable and Deadpool.
