'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' isn't out until July, but we should probably expect more comments like this in the weeks ahead.

Emmanuelle Seigner isn't a big fan of the fact that her husband, film director Roman Polanski, is depicted in Quentin Tarantino's forthcoming Manson-adjacent Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

The actress/model shared her thoughts via an Instagram caption written in French. PerThe Hollywood Reporter's handy translation, she's taken issue with the fact that Polanski wasn't consulted over elements of his life (including his marriage to Sharon Tate) being used in Tarantino's mysterious tale.

"How can you take advantage of someone's tragic life while trampling on them?" Seigner wrote, noting that she wasn't criticizing the overall film itself. "I am just saying that it doesn't bother them [in Hollywood] to make a film about Roman and his tragic story, and make money with it…while at the same time they have made him a pariah. And all without consulting him of course."

The "pariah" comment is an apparent reference to Polanski being controversially expelled from Academy membership back in 2018 in connection with an admitted unlawful sex with Samantha Geimer circa 1977. Last month, The Blastreported that Polanski was suing the Academy in connection with his removal, with the Chinatown director and his lawyers arguing that a meeting was held regarding possible reconsideration in which the Academy failed to invite him.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which sees Sharon Tate portrayed by Margot Robbie, opens July 26. Polanski is portrayed in Tarantino's latest by Rafał Zawierucha.
