That unfortunate update comes straight from Kim Kardashian, who made an appearance on Monday's Jimmy Kimmel Live to discuss the release of Alice Marie JohnsonFamily Feud, and more. "Um, yeah, I think he really, um, he really, yeah," Kardashian said when Kimmel asked if her husband still liked Trump.

Kimmel then wondered aloud if Kardashian and West talk much about this or debate matters of politics. According to Kardashian, they do not. "You know what, no, because I always respect what [another] person thinks," she said. "And, you know, to make it clear, when Kanye, when we would talk about it, and we would talk about policies, and he doesn't necessarily agree with his policies. He likes his personality and how he made it to be president when everyone really underestimated him . . . He's not political, so he doesn't really dig deep into what's going on and I always knew that. I always knew what he meant."

West's attempts at apolitical Trump support leading up to the release of his Ye album have, as expected, proven particularly maddening among those who usually give the undeniably brilliant artist a great deal of leeway. Perhaps the biggest sign of this is the fairly lukewarm reception to Ye, an album that—in any other context—certainly feels like it would have received the reliably glowing critical acclaim given to previous West drops. Now, less than two months after its release, the album has practically fallen completely out of the conversation.
