Donald Glover Says Paper Boi and Earn Are Most Likely 'Star Wars' Fans

But what about Darius?

Atlanta's Earn Marks and Alfred "Paper Boi" Miles are "absolutely" fans ofStar Wars, Donald Glover has confirmed.

"Absolutely," Glover toldVariety when asked if the two characters in his critically acclaimed FX series would be fans of the cinematic universe he now inhabits as Lando Calrissian. "I really feel like they would be. I don't know for sure, but it feels like they would be." Asked if we might get a glimpse of this fandom in future episodes, Glover explained that it's more of an "unsaid" kind of thing.

Elsewhere, Glover detailed the incidental learning experience he was thrust into when Solo—which opens Friday—changed directors in the middle of production. "It was weirdly beneficial—not to belittle the seriousness of the situation," he said. "I think there was honestly a miscommunication in the artistic vision." Glover added that, as far as on-set tensions prior to Ron Howard joining the project, he "wasn't aware" of any aside from the usual disagreements that pop up on high-stakes projects.

Atlanta wrapped its second season earlier this month with the Hiro Murai-directed episode "Crabs in a Barrel," which—as should be widely expected by now—marked yet another perfect half-hour television. No straight-up spoilers here for those late to the party, but the episode's fairly open-ended conclusion left many viewers wondering about the show's future. Could we already be saying goodbye to one of the most inventive TV series in recent history after just two seasons? Both Glover and FX have remained understandably mum on that, but this writer thinks we'll get at least one more season, though we may have to wait a couple years.
