A man in Georgia — believed to be between 50 and 60 years old — is reportedly wanted in three separate counties for a string of similarly calm and bizarrely remorseful robberies. According to WSB-TV, the man is frequenting drugstores armed with a traditional demand note (see above), a second note expressing remorse, and the "claim of a gun." Local police have footage of the man robbing a Walgreen's earlier this week, where he employed his signature strategy.
"You see [these handwritten notes] in banks usually, [not] at a drugstore [or] convenience store," Captain Jackie Dunn told WSB-TV. The apology notes reportedly claim a recently acquired drug addiction, though the specifics of that addiction remain as much of a mystery as the suspect's strict adherence to a no-disguise policy. In addition to the Walgreen's incident, the backpack-toting burglar has reportedly hit multiple CVS locations — all while driving the same car (an early 00s blue Acura) with a clearly visible license plate.
Though the specific dollar amounts of each hit are not being reported, the suspect is apparently walking away with cash each time.
