Yup, just what the headline says: This week, walking and texting led to a woman strolling right off a pier into a river channel that leads to Lake Michigan. Don't worry, she's OK, so it's fine if you laugh a little.
Emergency personnel were called to fish Bonnie Miller and her husband, who jumped in to save her, out of the lake. Miller's 15-year-old son also jumped in to save his mother.
"I’m so grateful to be alive," she said of her mid-week swim. "I have a new lease on life."
Maybe Michigan needs signs like this one more than New York does.
