"Party Down" and "24" Are Officially Becoming Movies Now
Both films will begin shooting late Spring.
The Party Down movie is actually happening. The quickly-canceled Starz comedy that came to a close in 2010 has snagged green-light status with almost the entire cast (Jane Lynch is currently unconfirmed) returning for big-screen venture, which will begin shooting in late Spring/early Summer. Megan Mullally, who joined the cast in season two, confirmed the news during a Television Critics Association panel.
"I will be doing the Party Down movie," she said. "John [Enbom] is writing it right now."
Jack Bauer will also be making his way to the movie screen: The Fox terrorist drama 24 will begin shooting in late April/early May. Kiefer Sutherland broke the exciting news during the TCA press tour.
“The script that we've got right now, which I’m very, very excited about, is relatively a direct continuation. It’s within six months from the end of the last episode. We’ll see where it goes from there.”
Sutherland also added that the movie would be in real-time, following a 24-hour period just as the show once did.
