Another classic shot from my brother Rameen Gasery. From APT to now, Wednesday nights in NYC still got a home for that raw analog heat.

Fresh Fridays

WHERE: The Jewish Mother, Norfolk, VA
WHEN: Friday, September 21, 2012

My first time rocking in VA since the Malbon Brothers (Frank 151 Magazine) brought me down there to rock back in 1996! DJ Bee is a fucking animal on the wheels, and this party is off the meat rack! One love to C'monwealth Clothing, Eric Wiggins, DJ Bee, and the entire city of Norfolk for such an incredible welcome back to Virginia.

First meal even in Nashville. We made the right choice. Ridiculous.

The Boom Bap

WHERE: Nashvile, TN
WHEN: Saturday, September 22, 2012

On my maiden voyage to Nashville, we brought dat dayum roof down at the 5 Spot. Three-hundred-and-fifty bodies in motion by 11 p.m., and I didn't even get on until midnight. Incredible party. Case Bloom, DJ Rate, and DJ Bowles are all fine selectors and collectors who run one of the best hip hop parties I've been to in a long while. I cannot wait to return.

Grimey's Records

WHERE: Nashville, TN
WHEN: Sunday, September 23, 2012

Metallica once recorded a live album in front of 100 ravenous fans in the basement of this building…and no, it is NOT the size of Amoeba in L.A., but damn do they have a shitload of incredible records. Unfortunately, we walked in with 15 minutes to spare before closing, so we couldn't really wreck shop like we wanted to. Still, we caught MAD heat in that tiny window.

It seems like every time I play in Bed-Stuy, sparks fly and asses shake. I couldn’t resist starting a monthly when my man Alex proposed it to me. This is the first ever edition of our new Revival party. And if that wasn’t enough, it’s the North American debut of a dope, dope singer, Nai Palm, from the band Hiatus Kaiyote (Melbourne, Australia). You’ll be hearing a lot from her band in the years to come. Hear me now, believe me later.
