It's been a long time coming but Twitter has finally begun rolling out the ability to 'mute' other users. The much-requested feature will apply to the service's Android and iOS apps, as well as directly on Twitter.com.
You can mute specific tweeters via an option on their profile page. The user won't know that you've silenced them, and they will still be to interact with you via favorites, @replies, and retweets. Unlike third-party apps, however, Twitter still hasn't included the function to silence conversations by keyword.
"Mute gives you even more control over the content you see on Twitter by letting you remove a user’s content from key parts of your Twitter experience," a Twitter product manager explained in a blog post.
Or you could just, you know, unfollow them.
