It's sort of an old school tradition that a guy's girlfriend need win over his mother before taking things to the next level.
It seems Eva Mendes was able to do that this past Sunday (January 1st), when he met with Ryan Gosling's mom in New York City.
"They all hung out and went to the movies together," a source told PEOPLE. "Ryan and Eva seemed very happy."
Although they've been dating since September, this was reportedly the first time Gosling had introduced Mendes to his family.
