To every girl who thought she could tame a forever-bachelor: there's hope. Human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin married George Clooney this afternoon in Venice. Clooney and his family arrived at the Aman Canal Grande Hotel in a water taxi; Alamuddin stayed there last night. Both of them reportedly had bachelor and bachelorette parties on the canal last night.
The two have been engaged since April and met in Rome in 2007. Rumored guests include Clooney pals Matt Damon, Cindy Crawford, Brad Pitt, John Krasinski and Julia Roberts. Clooney was previous married to Talia Balsam from 1989 to 1993 and has been one of the most sought-after bachelors ever since.
UPDATE: And because reality isn't actually that romantic, Clooney and Alamuddin officially became man and wife two days after their formal wedding on Monday, Sept. 29, when they had their civil ceremony. Also, as far as we know, this whole past weekend in Venice was NOT just a plot line for Ocean's Fourteen.
