There are few things more rewarding than watching people make fools of themselves on the internet, and what better way to do that than by completely losing it over a video game? Whether they go into a fit of hysterics or literally kill someone, we just can't get enough.
Besides, we've all got that one friend who takes games way too seriously. These people are worse. That's why they're on the internet. If one of these guys is your friend, watch your back next time you beat him at Halo.
And if you don't have a friend like this, well, maybe you should try recording your next game of Black Ops. Then post it on the internet, because chances are, you're a raging psychopath.
Enjoy!
Two Guys Fight Over Whose Turn It is
Choice line: something about going into "beast mode" (2:50)
In this enlightening clip, two dudes start bickering about whose turn it is, and things quickly get ugly. It's a common enough scenario, but most of the time, the dudes don't physically pin one another down while screaming racial slurs as loud as possible. The best part may be when the guy filming decides he needs a better angle and notes that "the lighting is kind of bad in here" before flipping on the ceiling light.
"Minecraft Redditor Freaks Out"
Choice line: "I'm gonna start posting on the forums, and I'm not gonna stop until people start using the right channels!" (0:30)
This guy can't even discuss Minecraft without losing it, much less actually play it. While we grant that the game can get pretty frustrating, talking about it shouldn't be. Nevertheless, the apparent Reddit user is slightly unhappy that players in the survival discussion channel are discussing the creative server. If you're not familiar with how Minecraft works, suffice to say that it's really not a big deal. If only this guy could realize that.
British Kid Cries, Punches Wall Over Modern Warfare 2
Choice line: "I've got milk on my f*cking lips because I don't give a sh*t." (0:15)
This video of a kid proving simultaneously how tough he is and how much he hates MW2 by crying and punching a wall until his hand bleeds might be sad, if the kid wasn't British. The accent just makes it funny. Also, slightly sad. We didn't like the new kill streak bonuses either, kid. It gets even better if you picture him in a sort of Sgt. Pepper-like costume. He seems to have that liverpool thing going on.
Guy Begs for Hacker to "Unhack" PSN
Choice line: "If it ain't back online Monday, I'm cryin' like a bitch!" (1:18)
The PlayStation Network hacks earlier this year were indeed frustrating for thousands of gamers. Unlike when a corrupt government agency or money grubbing corporation gets hacked, no one benefits from thousands of PSN passwords going public. Especially not this guy. The only thing is, we're not sure if it's possible to "unhack" something. Hopefully he was satisfied with his free copy of Infamous when the PSN finally came back on—over two months after this video was made.
Girl Freaks Out About Crash Bandicoot
Choice line: "This is my LAST f*cking LIFE!" (1:31)
It's not often we get to see a girl getting this into a video game, especially not a classic like Crash Bandicoot. The best part is that we well remember how frustrating Naughty Dog's '90s platforming series could get. Unlike the mustachioed plumber he attempted to usurp, Crash often controlled like a shopping cart with four sticky wheels. That appears to be what this poor young lady is experiencing. Apparently playing standing up (1:27) doesn't improve her game, because by the end she's ripped the controller out and gone after the TV itself.
Kid Throws Gameboy Into Street
Choice line: "I'm pretty sure sharp blades are supposed to kill your enemy." (0:20)
This chubster has a sort of quiet dignity about him as, only slightly discomposed, he asks his friend several times to turn off the camera, and then calmly chucks his Gameboy Advance SP onto the sidewalk and under a car. He doesn't want anyone else to witness his outburst, probably because it's extremely stupid. We just wish we knew what game he was playing—apparently it's one in which the protagonist is forced to wield a rather ineffective sword. Or he just sucks at it.
"Halo 2 Kid Freaks Out!"
Choice line: "You scream every time you die, you bitch-" "SHUT THE FUCK UP F*G!" (1:26)
Anyone who's ever played on Xbox Live has encountered a foulmouthed little sh*t like the kid in this video, though we never realized they like to film their own shenanigans with a tripod. We can only assume someone else got ahold of the footage and edited this montage of several days' worth of the kid literally shrieking until he's hoarse. Either that or he just thought he looked really cool, and did it himself. The really painful part is we remember getting almost as frustrated about the standby glitch in Halo 2.
German Kid Destroys Keyboard Playing Unreal Tournament
Choice line: "I'M GOING TO KILL YOU ALL!! YAAAAGGGGHHHHHH!!!" (3:46)
This video combines several entertaining elements, including frustrated children, irate Germans and people freaking out about video games. This brat can't even wait for the game to start before he loses it—the maniacal howling begins on the loading screen. It gets so intense that it actually frightens us. Watch it to the end (if you can make it that far) to see him apparently get fragged, and respond by completely destroying his keyboard. Pretty normal reaction.
"Fat Boy Freaks Out Playing Call of Duty!"
Choice Line: "Ground lost?? YOU GUYS SUCK! I'm on a winning streak and it's oh-and-three!" (0:54)
It's all in the title. The funniest part might be that this kid is lone wolfing this match while his teammates struggle to capture objectives—a personal pet peeve of ours when it comes to team games. Then he squawks at his team for four minutes about how much they suck. Around 3:40, he falls backwards in his chair. Then it's replayed in slow motion. It's actually sort of beautiful.
Poor Francis Cries Hard Over Hacked WoW Account
Choice line: "It's been like ten days, and now the Lich King is available and I can't even fight him!" (0:35)
If you enjoy watching obese people bawl their eyes out, then this will be a treat (also, shame on you). This guy's WoW account got hacked, and he hasn't had access to it for ten days. The news that it had been suspended for spamming other players was the last straw, and poor Francis just couldn't go another second without posting a video of himself in hysterics on some forum. Highlights: at 1:21, he attempts to rip his shirt open but only appears to stretch the collar. And at 2:14, you can actually see the keys flying off his keyboard as he pounds it against his head, and then his desk.
"GET IN THE F*CKING WARTHOG!!"
Choice line: "I'M NOT F*CKING SCREAMING, THIS IS MY NORMAL VOICE!!" (2:33)
Okay, we get it. Halo is a frustrating game. What this guy is yelling for four minutes is basically what our internal monologues sound like during most games of Reach. Some people just don't have the filter that stops that incoherent maelstrom of rage from passing their lips. The guy really seems to hate "f*cking noobs"—maybe a noob ran over his dog or something.
"Greatest freak out ever 2"
Choice line: "He keeps betraying me! Yell at him!" (1:51)
Okay, so if you didn't think the original "Greatest freak out ever" (further in the list) was fake, you have to admit that the creation of a sequel is sort of a dead giveaway. That doesn't stop us from enjoying it, though. The dog gets sick of this kid's screeching at around 1:30, and his mom joins in the verbal fray at 1:38. We're torn on whether her entrance was planned, since we would have belted the little brat until his ears bled if he was our spawn.
"Psycho kid playing Halo."
Choice line: "What are you, a f*cking math teacher or something?" (0:46)
This one's actually pretty mean, but it's fun to watch as these two dudes practically torture a kid playing Halo. Apparently he just sucks; he can't get a single kill, and the other two have zero mercy. We don't blame them. In fact, we would've done the same. "WHYYYYY?" the poor little guy screams at 2:12 (and continuously for about a minute after that). Their response? "Because you suck." Kids are cruel.
"5 year old kid freaks out over COD: Black Ops!!!"
Choice line: "You're telling? …Damn." (2:20)
There is so much wrong with this in addition to the obvious fact a five-year-old shouldn't play a game about Vietnam. His brother is getting way too much enjoyment out of it—the first couple minutes is just him chuckling as the kid dies over and over again. We skipped ahead to about 2:05, when the poor little fella' runs away to "tell" and proceeds to have a sh*t fit in the dark (he insists on the dark part), his older bro taunting him all the way. If the kid was a little older this may have ended like the next entry on our list. We actually feel really mean writing this.
"Argument over a video game leads to Death"
Choice line: "I don't believe the actual game itself was the cause of it, and I don't believe that they were acting out, in any way, or mimicking anything in a video game." (1:26)
This is actually too sad and messed up to make any jokes about. The gist is that two kids (13 and 16) were arguing over whose turn it was to play, when the 13-year-old pretty much stabbed his bro with a steak knife. We've all been in that situation, though most of us have found a less violent solution ("Mooooom!"). The reporter on the scene makes a reference to brother-on-brother violence in the Bible, which is sort of a weird thing to say. Then we get the choice quote, from the area's chief of police. Considering the beating games usually take in these situations, it's nice he at least didn't jump to any conclusions.
"Gameboy Possesses Kid"
Choice line "NOOOOOO! DON'T TAKE A PICTURE OF ME!" (0:16)
It's a good thing this video is short, because we'd probably have to puncture our own eardrums if we had to watch any more of it. Maybe kids this young shouldn't be playing handheld games, or maybe kids are just annoying. Either way, this is another one where we'd really like to know what game he's playing. Especially once we translated his first outburst to "Why the game make me do that?" What will it make him do next? Murder everyone, we're guessing.
Kid Finds Shiny Ponyta, Has Best Day Ever
Choice line: "Thank you so much, God—I really owe you on this one!" (7:14)
We love everything about this video. For one thing, finding a shiny Pokemon in the wild comes with something like a 0.01% chance of actually happening. This guy tripled his odds by playing on three Gameboys at once—genius. His fingers moved deftly across each handheld as he sang his way through almost 26,000 encounters (according to the video's info). And, when his efforts were finally rewarded with a Ponyta with blue flames (instead of red), he just couldn't keep his composure. He was likely a little delusional by this point, as well.
"Jacob, Get Off The Xbox 360."
Choice line: "NOW I CAN'T JOIN SESSION WIF 'IM!" (1:02)
Unlike most of the other videos on the list, this gamer isn't really to blame for his tantrum. It's not even that bad a tantrum, considering the kid is, like, five years old. And someone (his dad?) is just trolling him based on the fact he's actually well behaved and does what he's told without screaming at the top of his lungs. Combined with the fact the kid is way too young for Halo, we call bad parenting. If they keep it up, next thing you know, young Jacob will be living on the streets with a gang of thieves and prostitutes, picking pockets just to get by. Yeah, he does sound like Oliver Twist. Hehe.
"I WANT CHOCOLATE MILK!"
Choice line: "You said you would get me whatever I wanted to drink, and I said a Mountain Dew, and now I want chocolate milk!" (2:29)
All the kid wanted was to play in the clan match. And to drink some tasty chocolate milk. Just one of the many, many, many reasons we will never have kids (we want all the chocolate milk for ourselves!). Also, for a kid who sounds about seven years old, he knows a lot of fancy words.
Evil Parents Beg Kid to Get Off WoW
Choice line: "It's not the computer game that's separating this family, it's what you're reacting to it!" (1:19)
Okay, so they're not really evil. But this kid might be possessed by the whiniest demon we've ever heard. He sounds about fifteen, but he's having a tantrum to match the little girl who comes in second on Toddlers & Tiaras. Other highlights include the "domestic abuse" at 3:37 and the other players' reactions at 3:54: "That is some of the weirdest sh*t I've ever heard in my life.
"Ultimate TF2 Rage"
Choice line: "Run home, motherf*cker! Run home! F*ck you! F*ck you! That medic ain't gonna save you! F*ck you! That's right, f*ck you! F*ck you! F*ck you! F*ck yeah! F*ck you, too! F*ck!" (1:54)
It was actually hard to pick out the choicest line from this one, because the entire video sort of just goes on like that. While there's a good chance this guy literally has an anger problem, that won't stop us from being extremely entertained by his mental anguish. Besides this being ten minutes long (all worth watching), it's also set apart by the "F*ck Count" at the bottom of the screen. We won't spoil it, but it's in the hundreds. Remarkable.
"Teen Who Killed Mother Over Video Games Gets 23 Years to Life"
Choice line: "Defense attorneys argued that Daniel was so addicted to the game that he was in withdrawal, and he may not have realized that his parents would not come back." (0:40)
Yikes. So 17-year-old Daniel Petric shot both his parents after they confiscated his copy of Halo 3. His dad survived, but his mom didn't. Someone capable of this must have some deeply ingrained psychological problems to begin with, and playing violent, possibly addictive games in addition to that probably didn't help. But the joke is that his lawyers actually tried to claim that he thought his parents would respawn. Here's hoping he's getting some help in prison—and that there's no Xbox in the rec room (we're not sure how prison works—do they even have rec rooms?).
"Leeroy Jenkins"
Choice line: "Alright, time's up. Let's do this. LEEROOOOOYYYY JENKINS!" (1:23)
Leeroy Jenkin's classic freak out stands the test of time as a true masterwork, despite not necessarily being a real freak out—it's more just Leeroy jumping the gun. To be fair, we would have been impatient with that other guy's endless planning and number crunching, too. We prefer to just run in and see what happens, which is probably why we've never got past level 10 in WoW without giving up and switching back to Halo.
"Greatest Freak Out Ever"
Choice line: "I'm gonna run away and never come back! I swear you'll never see me again!" (0:40)
We wouldn't argue with that title if this tantrum was actually real. Unfortunately, it's generally accepted that the "greatest freak out ever," purportedly over the mother's well-meaning cancellation of the kid's WoW account, is a fake. Nevertheless, we'll never get sick of watching him strip down and try to shove a remote control up his ass out of frustration. Actually, forget we said that. It sounds wrong.
"Nintendo Sixty-FOOOOOOOOOOUR"
Choice line: "YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! YES! Now we can go rent games at Blockbuster!" (0:28)
Just because we wanted to leave you with a positive note after you sat here and watched 24 videos of people violently losing their minds, here's the happiest kid in the world opening the best Christmas present he or anyone else will ever receive. We like the part where he loses control of his hands just after the 20 second mark. Also, he's way too excited about going to being able to go to Blockbuster. The '90s were truly a simpler time.
