Kai Cenat's arrest after the chaos that ensued following his promoted giveaway in NYC has been a trending topic on social media, and several celebrities have chimed in on the matter.

Hours after news got out that the popular Twitch streamer had been arrested and taken into custody, fans and various celebrities took to Twitter to give their two cents on the situation. The 21-year-old streamer held an unsanctioned giveaway for fans in Union Square in NYC when a riot broke out.

Cenat ended up getting charged with at least two counts of inciting a riot and unlawful assembly, along with a few other charges resulting from the massive crowd that filled up Union Square. Some of the first people to comment were Offset and NLE Choppa, who criticized the NYPD for arresting Cenat.

"How you lock Kai up for giving back to his fans….New York be trippin!!!" Offset wrote.

NLE Choppa took a shot at "the system" not being designed for the Black community, saying, "Y'all don't even charge the KKK When they do that negative shit but charge a successful black man for giving back. The system so designed for us to fail it don't make sense !"

On Friday, NYPD Chief of Department Jeffrey Maddrey revealed in a press conference that "authorities filled a city bus filled with arrestees." He also stated Kai Cenat's event was not sanctioned by police as proper precautions would've been taken had they known about the giveaway.

"Our Entertainment Unit, I think we have to reach out to some of our influencers and ask them to be responsible with this, to help us with this," Maddrey said. "If we knew about this, we could've had the barriers out here, we could've had police officers out here, we could've did this orderly, they could've gave whatever gifts they had for the young people away."

He continued, "I encourage this. We want our young people to come to events like this. It just can't be, hey, this is what we're doing, it's a free-for-all. We see this is the outcome, and we cannot have these outcomes."

It only took a few minutes to arrest 21-year-old Kai Cenat and charge him for inciting a riot in New York.

But it took 2 1/2 years to arrest 77-year-old Donald Trump for the riot he caused in Washington, DC. And he still wasn’t charged for inciting it.pic.twitter.com/OfpcKgcEEA
