Chi-Town made its presence felt in Long Beach, California last weekend. At the third annual ComplexCon event, Showtime set up a dope installation inspired by the critically acclaimed original drama series, The Chi, which will return for a second season in 2019.

CC attendees had the opportunity to snap selfies and share on social media using #ShoTheChi. The selfies instantaneously printed as small polaroids at the booth and were added to The Chi mosaic stretching across the brick-style back wall. Additionally, people who swung by the installation were gifted four exclusive pins—cooked up by PINTRILL—all nodding to the series.

Much to the delight of ComplexCon goers, Lena Waithe, The Chi’s executive producer and creator, came through to check out the installation. So too did series stars Jacob Latimore and Barton Fitzpatrick. In one of the most memorable moments in ComplexCon history, Michael B. Jordan unexpectedly stopped by to greet and embrace his homie, Lena. It was a meeting of two figures instrumental in shaping the culture today and discussions surrounding it. Needless to say, the booth was buzzing.

Peep photos of the experience below, and gear up for season two of The Chi by watching the first season here.
