On paper, the squad does seem elite.

Finding the right team to run with on NBA 2K23's MyTeam mode is always tricky. Trying to find the perfect balance between slashing, shooting, and defending is always difficult but one YouTuber has a novel idea for building the ideal squad: by using Drake lyrics.

Canadian YouTuber HTB took on the challenge to make a squad using various Drake songs to pinpoint which players he'll use on his roster.

The video has over 116,000 views since being uploading two days ago.

Starting with a Steph Curry reference from Drake's 2014 song "0 to 100," HTB settles on the point guard's 99 overall EndGame card.

"I been Steph Curry with the shot / Been cookin' with the sauce, Chef Curry," Drake raps.

At shooting guard, HTB takes Devin Booker since Drake name-dropped him in "Sicko Mode."

"See the shots that I took (Ayy), wet like I'm Book (Ayy)," Drake rhymes on the track.

On "Nonstop," Drake raps "Catch me 'cause I'm gone (Outta there, I’m gone) / How I go from 6 to 23 like I'm LeBron?" leading to HTB choosing The Kid From Akron as his starting small forward.

HTB then chooses a 99 overall Kobe Bryant card after Drake said "R.I.P. to 8" on "Rich Flex," a 99 overall Shaquille O'Neal card for Drake's lyrics on "Used To," and a 99 overall Giannis Antetokounmpo card following a reference on "7am On Bridle Path."

While that rounds out the starters and sixth man on HTB's squad, he still has room for more choosing elite players like Kawhi Leonard, DeMar DeRozan, and Scottie Pippen among others.

On paper, HTB's squad looks stacked but it remains to be seen if it'll be a viable roster to use in MyTeam's online modes.

While Drake hasn't commented on anything NBA-related in a minute, he does seem to have unfinished business in the hockey world. The rapper posed with Tie Domi over the weekend and said the NHL has 24 hours to respond to his DM.
