Canadians wondered why the Prime Minister would tweet at Swift with so much else happening in the country right now.

Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour has been taking the popstar all over the world. Well, except for Canada.

While many Canadian Swifties have been begging the singer to add dates in the country, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has joined in on the fight, using altered lyrics from Swift's song "Anti-Hero" to make his point.

"It's me, hi. I know places in Canada would love to have you. So don't make it another cruel summer. We hope to see you soon," Trudeau wrote.

It’s me, hi. I know places in Canada would love to have you. So, don’t make it another cruel summer. We hope to see you soon.

As is customary whenever a public figure does something funny, the internet was quick to respond to Trudeau's tweet.

One person asked when we could expect rebates for Taylor Swift tickets.

Dear Prime Minister, when could we have the rebate of Taylor Swift's tickets?

One user compared Trudeau's tactics to the leaders of Chile and Brazil, all of whom requested Swift's presence in their respective countries.

This is what you call true demand. https://t.co/wrq7ZNcjt3
