In 2020, Grimes made an appearance in the sci-fi RPG game Cyberpunk 2077 as Lizzy Wizzy, an artist and celebrity in the game's main location Night City.

According the Walter Isaacson, the author behind Elon Musk's recently released biography, the 52-year-old, showed up to Grimes' recording sessions with an ancient gun and pleaded to be featured in the game as a cameo.

Though it's not entirely certain, some believe the developer, CD Projekt Red, did in fact include him.

"When Grimes was doing the voice recordings for the cyborg pop-star she played in the video game Cyberpunk 2077, [Musk] showed up at the studio wielding a two-hundred-year-old gun and insisted that they give him a cameo," Isaacson wrote.

"'The studio guys were like sweating,' Grimes says. Adds Musk, 'I told them that I was armed but not dangerous.' They relented. The cybernetic implants in the game were a sci-fi version of what he was doing at Neuralink. 'It hit close to home,' he says."

The following paragraph in the chapter saw Grimes explaining that Musk having Asperger's made it difficult for him to read the room.

"His emotional comprehension is just very different from the average human,” Grimes said according to Isaacson. "People should keep his psychological makeup in mind when judging him. If someone has depression or anxiety, we sympathize. But if they have Asperger’s we say he’s an asshole."

Musk, who now owns Twitter and renamed it X, said in a conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that he's considering implementing a "small monthly payment" in the social media platform in an effort to remove the number of bots.
