Law & Order is coming to Canada.
CityTV is partnering with Universal Television to bring a spinoff of the series titled Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent to the network.
Expected to debut in spring 2024, the series will be comprised of 10 episodes and will tackle stories of crime and corruption in Toronto.
As all things go these days, the internet had lots to say and plenty of jokes to make about the new show.
One user mentioned that the show is in development despite the ongoing WGA strike.
Another person said the show would be "filmed on location" at a Tim Hortons.
Someone pointed out that this spinoff could lead to another spinoff of another classic crime series.
Would it really be a Canadian series if there weren't an abundance of apologies?
One person said the whole season could just examine the daily incidents on the TTC.
“The timeless appeal of the cases explored in the globally successful Law & Order franchise continues to draw in Citytv audiences week after week,” said Hayden Mindell of Rogers Sports & Media.
