HBO’s The Last of Us will return for season two, though this time around, filming will take place even further west than its first season.

According to Deadline, the video game adaptation will film its second season in Vancouver.

The show’s sophomore season will partially cover the events of The Last of Us: Part II which was released on PlayStation 4 back in 2020. The story of the long-awaited follow-up largely takes place in the Pacific Northwest.

Filming in Vancouver continues the production trend of filming in Canada as the first season was filmed in Alberta.

Though those who have played the video game know which characters are slated to appear in the second season, the showrunners, Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, have yet to reveal who will play the new additions.

Bella Ramsey, who plays Ellie in the show, revealed in a recent interview that she expects filming to begin at the end of this year or the beginning of 2024. She then anticipates the season to air by the end of 2024 or early 2025.

The showrunners haven’t confirmed any release date as of yet.
