Gaming is complex, so catch up each week with the short and dirty in Reboot: This Week In Games.

This week saw some a conclusion to some serious litigation between ex-student athletes of the NCAA variety and EA Sports who were unable to convince a court of appeals that copying player likeness and style wasn't stealing and profiting off their identities.

Tropes vs. Women dropped its latest installment, reminding us how screwed up and sexist most of our retro favorites are, not saying their bad games, they just mess up society. What week would be complete without some Oculus Rift news, videos, and the media's puzzling of virtual reality porn to come, M64 takes comedy aim and misses its marbles - just barely - with a coffee grinder.

Rockstar Games had previously said that GTAV would borrow heavily from Red Dead Redemption and Max Payne 3 when it came to shooting mechanics. Now YouTube user datarace1 was kind enough to give us a comparison. Max Payne 3's shooting style wasn't perfect but once we got the flow down it comes pretty natural. At least it’s a huge improvement over the clunky gun mechanics of previous GTA titles.

The day Grand Theft Auto V is out we want to play it on this guy's setup. Using the Oculus Rift and Razer Hydra in a new configuration he's made an effective cover-based shooter, "Please be careful when playing this demo, lots of people try to support themselves on the crates when they try to stand up or when leaning up against a column, but find there is nothing there!" We wonder if works for the strip club that Love Fist will undoubtedly be playing in at some point in GTAV.

Speaking of which, GTAV drops on September 17 and not a day earlier, until then we'll have to whet our appetite for gun-crazy vehicle mayhem with these screens released this week, showing off some vehicles and characters we can look forward to maiming and destroying.

Microsoft updated its pricing for controllers and accessories for the upcoming next-gen Xbox One. Wouldn’t you know it! They're more expensive. Can't say anyone surprised with the news but $60 bucks for a controller is a bit steep, but $25 for a battery pack? Ouch.

PlayStation 4 doesn't think you're a loser at all. In fact Sony thinks you have so many friends that they've capped your Party Chat friends list at 2,000, great a new goal to fail at; our therapists will be pleased.

This week a U.S. court of appeals has upheld a ruling against Electronic Arts in a lawsuit by former NCAA athletes who accused the company of using their image and likenesses for financial gain without their permission.

Turns out that if you copy a student-athletes "height, weight, facial features, hair color and style, home state, playing style, school year, skin tone, throwing arm, uniform number and visor preferences..." and then don't credit them and make a ton of money off a video game their in, its not completely legal; who knew?

Unlike NCAA student-athletes, Usain Bolt is one of the highest paid athletes in the world. So when he's not busy hanging out with Richard Branson or pounding down some Mc.Nuggets before breaking some other world record, he's all up in Temple Run 2. Now you can play the Bolt himself in your favorite nightmare about Evil Demon Monkeys.

In the third installment of the enlightening Tropes vs Women in Video Games, Anita Sarkeesian looks at the "ironic sexism" that seemed to accompany many retro games. The series sheds light on the crudeness of some games and actually tries to offer some solutions for future developers.

So we're really interested about what they’re going to have to say when the inevitable first round of Oculus Rift adult entertainment games hit the market. Mega64 takes a poke at its impact on relationships. We know games like Wicked Paradise are going to be there one way or another, we're just wondering what kind of new social norms this is going to unlock.

Speaking of dressing in leather and hopping around rooms with zipper masks, the multiplayer modes for the upcoming Batman: Arkham Origins looks sick. Players get to choose between heroes and thugs and battle it out online, unlocking the Jocker or Bane to take down the Bats and Robin.

This year, the master of Quake puzzled on the lifespan and future of consoles, among other things. Frankly, Lord Carmack doesn't see a future for them as the cloud becomes more accessible and technology allows for further miniaturization. "A traditional next Xbox?"..." I think that's a long ways off, and there's a credible argument to be made that there may not be another console generation as we know it now."
