After much speculation and pondering about the future of Marvel's The Punisher, which is one of the two Marvel series left on Netflix, the streaming giant has unleashed the first teaser for Season 2, along with its release date: Jan. 18. We also know that this season will find Billy Russo seemingly becoming his comic book counterpart, Jigsaw.

The teaser is light on action; it's primarily Frank and Billy giving interspersed monologues about their separate (but similar) plights. Frank's trying to deal with his loneliness and desire to just lash out violently against evil, while Billy is feeling the same way, only (seemingly) directing his anger towards Frank. We also get to see a mask Billy is rocking, along with a new hairstyle, and him shaking his head violently. Heavy stuff.

Netflix also released an official synopsis: "Former marine-turned-vigilante Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) has been living a quiet life on the road until he suddenly becomes embroiled in the attempted murder of a young girl (Giorgia Whigham). As he is drawn into the mystery surrounding her and those in pursuit of the information she holds, Castle attracts a new target on his back as new and old enemies force him to confront whether he should accept his destiny and embrace a life as 'The Punisher.'"

Should be interesting, and with the series dropping in two weeks, we have very little time to get ready. Check out these official images from Season 2 below, and run back that teaser up above if you're interested.
