Back in September, Netflixreleased a teaser for their highly-anticipated Narcos: Mexico series, which premieres on November 16. Starring Diego Luna and Michael Peña, this series is said to show you "the birth of Mexico's drug war," and today, we have the official trailer for you.

Inspired by true events, Narcos: Mexico takes you back to 1980, with Luna portraying notorious real-life drug cartel boss Félix Gallardo (aka "the Rockefeller of marijuana"), who is looking to start an empire. Peña, playing DEA agent Enrique 'Kiki' Camarena, is sent to infiltrate, meeting "the snakes" who are carving out their dream in swaths of the desert. In typical Narcos fashion, the series will not only show you how the cartel built their empire (on the back of the budding cocaine industry), but how the feds aimed to take them out.

If you haven't caught up on the three seasons of Narcos, don't trip: Narcos: Mexico is its own tale. This is very much season 1 of Narcos: Mexico, not season 4 of Narcos.

Set to the Sugarhill Gang's "White Lines," the trailer for Narcos: Mexico shows you all of the pain, glory, and violence it took to obtain that kind of power. We've got savage beatings, rocket launchers, and all other kinds of debauchery going down. Fans of this series should be excited.

Check out the full trailer for Narcos: Mexico up above, and be sure to tune in when it hits Netflix on November 16.
