A Louisiana restaurant fired a waiter this week after he allegedly gave a group of customers a receipt featuring a racial slur.

The New York Daily News reports that 23-year-old Dakota Crochet was terminated from his position at New Orleans' Huck Finn's after giving a party of black customers a receipt which read " "N****** 100% dislike" on Thursday afternoon. What's more, a former Huck Finn's server identified only as Melani told the Daily News that Crochet knew exactly what he was doing:

I printed those receipts 50 times a day. I know for a fact he knew it would show up on his receipt, a former Huck Finn's waitress told the Daily News. I was like, are you that hateful that you would put that on the receipt?

Huck Finn's has since issued an apology:

The unfortunate actions of this one employee do not mirror the mission of Huck Finn's Cafe's firm non-discrimination policy, and we are extremely apologetic for any inconvenience this may have caused, the statement said.

We acknowledge that the anger and disappointment being expressed is legitimate and has serious merit. We want everyone to know that we agree.

According to NBC News, 33-year-old Liryca Neville-Branch, one of the customers who was given the receipt, is considering a lawsuit. Neville-Branch added that she didn't believe the restaurant's apology was sincere.
