Zurich has found a way to keep prostitutes off of the street—by creating drive-in sex booths. The city has approved approximately 30 "sex boxes" equipped with parking spaces, panic buttons, on-site counselors, and medical licensing requirements for each sex worker. Because street walking has been outlawed in most parts of the city, sex workers will be forced to apply for health insurance and pay a $40 registration fee, as well as a $5 daily access fee for use of the spaces.

Clearly the city is playing the role of the pimp here. Spokesperson for Zurich's Social Welfare Department Michael Herzig explained why the city is going the sex box route:

Basically, they're creating a free zone (though it ain't free at all) for prostitution.
