A teenager was killed during a drive-by shooting in Phoenix on Friday night, authorities say.
According to the Associated Press, Niani Allen, 16, was killed when Jason Lindsey, Jr., 18, opened fire into a vehicle in which she was a passenger. ABC15 in Arizona adds that she was later pronounced dead at Phoenix Children's Hospital.
The Associated Press reports that Allen and Lindsey were part of two groups involved in a confrontation at a high school basketball game earlier that evening.
Chris Hegstrom, spokesman for the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, told ABC15 that Lindsey was arrested yesterday and charged with first-degree murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
