Never say anything that sounds like a terrorist threat while on an airplane. Ali Reza Shahsavari, a citizen of this country, made this mistake on a Southwest flight from Los Angeles to Kansas City yesterday.

According to the crew, he was involved in a fight with another passenger and the two had to be separated. Shahasavari retreated to the bathroom, where he snapped, at one point shouting “You’re all going to die. You’re all going to hell. Allahu Akbar!” Cue the immediate wave of panic.

The flight was rerouted to Amarillo, and Shahsavari was taken into custody without putting up a fight. While the first emergency call stated that a passenger “was attempting to break into the cockpit,” Amarillo police are now skeptical.

FBI Special Agent Mark White says that the disturbance didn’t smell like an act of terrorism, and characterized Shahsavari as a U.S. citizen whose blood just got a little hot at that moment.

Shahsavari wasn’t guilty of being a terrorist, he was just guilty of losing his temper and forgetting what he was doing and where he was doing it. Regardless, don’t be like this guy.
