55-year-old Jerald Reiter was pulled over in Dubuque, Iowa, on Sunday for suspicion of DUI, and police noticed that he had a couple of friends riding shotgun in his truck: a baby zebra and a macaw parrot.
That’s nothing, though. Reiter, who looks like the skeleton of Donald Sutherland, was on his way back from the Dog House Lounge after being denied entry because he tried to bring the animals inside. Reiter told police the bar allows animals, a claim the owner’s denied. Reiter and his girlfriend, Vicky Teters, say the animals are “like their kids.” The couple also owns three more zebras and a quarter horse, which live in the barn by their house.
