This East Village IHOP has solidified itself as an after-hours spot.

People love to hit the restaurant after spending nights of binge drinking, and this particular IHOP is going to great lengths to ensure that nothing bad happens during the wee hours of the morning. Now, an off-duty cop has been hired to protect and serve IHOP’s East 14th Street location from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. We understand that IHOP is just playing it safe, but one in Bushwickjust opened; and without a doorman.

Have we really entered the age where restaurants need bouncers?
