The official trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s latest directorial effort Knock at the Cabin has arrived.

The trailer starts with a couple, played by Jonathan Groff (Mindhunter) and Ben Aldridge (Pennyworth), enjoying time together with their daughter in the backseat during a car ride to a cabin as KC and the Sunshine Band’s “Boogie Shoes” plays. If you’re familiar with Shyamalan’s work, you’re eagerly awaiting for the other shoe to drop.

The tone of the trailer changes when Leonard, played by Dave Bautista, can be seen in the distance eerily approaching the cabin through the woods. A knock on the front door ensues, and we’re off. Leonard is accompanied by three other people, who, according to Entertainment Weekly, are collectively the four horsemen of the apocalypse.

Leonard informs the couple that the quartet have been tasked with trying to prevent the apocalypse, and their family must make a “horrible decision” which carries potentially catastrophic implications.

Knock at the Cabin marks the return of Shyamalan after a two-year hiatus. Unlike his previous three films—Split, Glass, and Old, which essentially put him back on the map—Shyamalan co-wrote Cabin with Steve Desmond and Michael Sherman. The film is an adaptation of the horror novel The Cabin at the End of the World, penned by A Head Full of Ghosts author Paul G. Tremblay.

Knock at the Cabin reunites Shyamalan with Harry Potter alum Rupert Grint, who starred in his Apple+ series Servant, as well as Nikki Amuka from Old. It’s scheduled to hit theaters on Feb. 3, 2023.
