Over the last few months, the talent behind November’s The Muppets have been marketing their movie in a very strange way. Instead of putting out generic trailers that show the same movie clips over and over, they've been using footage from the film to parody other popular movie trailers. And it's pretty brilliant.
The latest example of this clever strategy is a parody of the trailer for The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, complete with faux Trent Reznor music and rhythmic smash-cut text. The end result? Hilarity. This minute-and-a-half long trailer is funnier than nearly all of the comedies that Hollywood has pushed out this year.
With all of the great Muppets footage that has been released, and the pure creativity literally flowing from the production, the Jason Segel-led flick keeps solidifying itself as one of our most anticipated movies of the fall. Perhaps it could even be one of the best of the year.
The Muppets hits theaters on November 23.

The crazy marketing campaign continues, and it's definitely working.
