It hasn’t even been 24 hours since it was announced that director Edgar Wright left Ant-Man, but that hasn’t stopped people from wildly speculating about what happened. Did Wright quit? Was he fired? Did Marvel interfere too much with the production? The closest thing we have to an answer right now is a report from Latino Review, which learned this from sources close to the production:
This sounds about right. There is no way Marvel would allow a director as talented as Wright leave unless his vision didn’t mesh with the studio’s overall connected universe. While the cast may remain in place, the studio is going to need to rebuild faith in this project with fans, especially now that we know that the director in charge will likely have absolutely no say in the film’s plot or characters.
