According to Deadline, James Franco is set to star in and direct a movie biography based on the life of ‘60s hairstylist and playboy, Jay Sebring. Aside from being a hairdresser to the stars, Sebring is perhaps best known as one of the victims of the Manson Family during the infamous murder spree that also killed Sharon Tate.

The movie will follow Sebring’s career as he quickly became a prominent figure in the Hollywood social scene in the ‘60s. The addition of playing Sebring is just one in a long line of diverse roles for Franco over the past year. His upcoming parts also see him playing a rapper/drug dealer in Harmony Korine's seedy drama Spring Breakers and the Wizard in Sam Raimi's colorful blockbuster, Oz: The Great and Powerful.
