Video: Check Out The First Clip From The Animated Movie “Superman Vs. The Elite”

Based off of the classic Joe Kelly comic book.

In the latest in a series of direct-to-video animated comic book movies, Warner Brothers is releasing Superman vs. The Elite, based on Joe Kelly’s story “What’s So Funny About Truth, Justice, and the American Way?” from Action Comics #775. In the original comic, Superman goes toe-to-toe against a violent group of anti-heroes that dispatch villains with deadly force. It was a commentary on the changing comic book world, and how extreme violence had made its way into superhero books.

This debut clip from the movie gives us a look at The Elite, led by Manchester Black. You can just tell they’re evil right away. The dude’s hair is pink and the one girl killed a dog. That’s all of the evidence that we need. Check out the entire press release for the film below.
