Criminals in the UK are getting innovative when it comes to getting people high. But to get people high, they have to go high with something else: a drone.

According to reports, at least one criminal was caught using a heat-detecting drone to find marijuana growhouses. The drone is able to easily detect a growhouse in, say, an apartment building (demonstrated in the video below) because the growers use powerful lighting equipment to feed their marijuana, and the vast amount of heat generated from these machines can be detected by said drones. So, once this particular criminal found a growhouse, he'd move in to take the crop or collect money from the grower.

"I bought my first drone for a few hundred quid and learnt how to fly it over wasteland and fitted a wifi camera to it so I could look into people's windows," the 33-year-old criminal said. "However, I noticed police helicopters used thermal imaging cameras to find cannabis farms because of the heat the hydroponic lights give off so I bought a second hand heat-seeking camera online and hooked it up to my Ipad."

"Half the time we don't even need to use violence to get the crop," he continued. "Growing cannabis has gone mainstream and the people growing it are not gangsters."
