6 Seconds of Fame: The Year on Vine

So many things happened in 2013, and one of them was Vine. What better way to look back on 2013 than with Vine?

None

We were only a few weeks into 2013 when Vine, the six-second video sensation, launched—and it's been quite a year for the social network. Then in June, Instagram countered Vine's success by introducing their own video feature. Many critics thought Instagram dealt a death blow to Vine, but by sticking to their guns, and adding editing features that Instagram fell short on, Vine has grown enough muscle to ride high into 2014. It has sparked a new breed of Internet celebrities, and you, too, can strike fame if you bring your creativity. That's the magic in a young social network: things are new, and the community is feeding off of each other's energy. So let's take a look back at the biggest Vines of 2013. From the trends, the people, to the instant classics, here is 6 Seconds of Fame: The Year on Vine.
