Double Dare is such a classic for Nickelodeon, even I don't remember it. I was just two years old when it was canceled in 1993. But out there amongst us are people old enough to reminisce about it, one of those being the host himself, Marc Summers. While appearing on HuffPost Live yesterday he pleaded with Nickelodeon to bring the show back, with him at the helm once again.

"I would love to do some form or fashion of it," Summers said. "Let's just say that right now ... the people who run the Nickelodeon network and I don't necessarily see eye-to-eye. I've been trying to make nice to those people, but they refuse to talk to me."

Part of that might have something to do with the fact that Summers is much older than the original audience, let alone Nickelodeon's current viewership.

"I think they think I'm way too old to do it," he continued. "I still have the energy, and I think I could. So I'm putting a call out to the folks at Nick: return the phone calls, have a discussion."

No one from Nickelodeon has responded yet, but if the fans start to rally behind Summers' mission, we wouldn't rule out the network getting a reboot going.
