The series finale was the highest-rated episode of the show's nine-year run, pulling in 2.5 million viewers.
Among adults age 18-49 the only higher rated show last night was Thursday Night Football. Last Thursday's episode drew half the viewers of the finale, with an audience of 1.2 million.
We may have misspoken by calling Colbert humble, though. Instead of calling the finale his best episode yet he went with an even bolder tweet.
