10 Zombies We Want to See Added to "Plants vs Zombies 2"

Zombies come in more iterations than we can keep up with.

You've got your Flatbush variety, you've got your George Romero derivations, and you've got your kid-friendly PG zombies found inPlants vs Zombies 2. It could be said that the video game industry is suffering from zombie overpopulation, and maybe it's time we move to the next all-consuming pop-culture obsession. We're just gratful that the whole sexy vampire thing didn't stick around.

Plants vs Zombies isn't going anywhere and for that we are grateful. When the sequel dropped we were introduced to an expanded roster of zombies for tactical insertion into gardens around the world. Cowboy zombies, Egyptian zombies, and the Wild West zombies are all coming for your brains, but how about adding these ten zombies as DLC? Just a thought.

Originator of the 'mother of god, that's a little kid' scare that can be found in nearly all horror video games, Karen was influence on pretty much everything zombie/haunted child related. We all have George Romero's 1968 Night of the Living Dead to thank for that.

Dubbed the first zom-rom-com, Warm Bodies came off way less corny than it sounds on paper. A post apocalyptic America has given rise to a 'zombie' plague and R, the lead, struggles to regain his humanity and battle the status quo of conformity.

Dead Snow was an amazingly original, low-budget horror film that centered around thawed Nazi zombies who were frozen thanks to some sort of Nordic magic. Super gory and Plants vs Zombies has a noticeable lack of Nazi zombies.

Another film that uses zombies as a metaphor for social inequality, Fido was an amazing film that also just happened to star zombies. Billy Connely plays the titular Fido and is portrayed as a cross between a pet and a rented best friend. A zombie that attacks on command is exactly what the garden could use.

An extra in Romero's 1978 screed on consumerism, the Hare Krishna zombie is one of the most iconic in a film brimming over with iconic zombies. Hare Krishna zombies in the garden would add a +5 armor buff to all surrounding zombies through his vegetarianism and chanting.

One of the greatest zombie homage films ever made deserves a nod as a piece of DLC in Plants vs Zombies 2. Nick Frost as Zombie Ed needs to be available for purchase.

The less than stellar Day of the Dead was saved by the introduction of the zombie Bub. A former soldier that retains some memories and behaviors of his pre-zombie life, he's basically a lab rat that's being taught sign language in the film. Being a former soldier, his addition to the zombie ranks would come in a commander role. All zombies within one square of Bub are granted +2 to their attack strength.

Another zombie/social commentary from Romero, this time dealing with class inequality and the lopsided wealth distribution in the U.S., Land of the Dead was a solidly ok zombie film. What was remembered most, aside from Dennis Hopper's cameo, was Big Daddy. When zombies figure out how to use tools, we're all kind of done for. A Big Daddy add-on would function the same way as the Pickaxe Zombie, except instead of digging underground tunnels Big Daddy would also provide an intimidating shout buff to fellow zombies.

Bruce Campbell has never gotten a fair shake when it comes to video games. A couple of awful Evil Dead games and a cameo in Poker Night 2 seems like a disservice unfitting of Ash. Zombie Ash needs to be added to Plants vs Zombies 2, if for nothing else, he's endlessly quotable. Zombie Ash comes equipped with a shogun and chainsaw, naturally.

Do we really need to list the reasons this would be a good idea? It's Bill Murray ... dressed as a zombie. What else do you really need from a bonus character? Murray has never been in a video game, other than voicing Peter Venkman in that Ghostbusters game, and seeing him shamble around the garden and drop zingers would make Plants vs Zombies 2 the greatest game ever made.
