The Lego Movie, also known as the film that's currently slaying hearts and conquering the box office, has a sequel set to arrive May 26, 2017, Variety reports. So close yet so far! Screenwriters Jared Stern (The Watch) and Michelle Morgan (Girl Most Likely) have signed on to pen the sequel's script.
As of right now, The Lego Movie has a nearly perfect 96% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and has grossed over $200 million worldwide, so this is probably one film you're gonna wanna pay attention to.
When you think about it, 2017 seems far off, but it's actually a pretty good idea: So much will be different in 2017. There will be a different president. The passionately hated Bowl Championship Series will be long gone. The iPhone you have right now will be free with a 2 year contract! Through all that change, rest assured, you'll have a new Lego Movie to restore the natural order of things.
