Just because you’ve already shot and aired your pilot doesn’t mean you can’t take a mulligan.

At least, that’s what the producers of NBC’s Constantine are banking on. They’ve announced that Lucy Griffiths—who starred on True Blood and played the role of Constantine’s sidekick Liv—will no longer be appearing on the show. Liv's role will be replaced by a different character from the comic books, a psychic named Zed.

In a statement to EW, executive producer Daniel Cerone said that:

That sounds like a really long-winded “it’s not you, it’s me” breakup routine. We’re not buying it. We want the real story.

In any case, the show will premiere on October 24, so you can expect news about who will fill the as-yet-uncasted role of Zed in the near future.
