Worldwide Wednesday: The 10 Hottest Bangladeshi Women

Tomorrow marks the 39th anniversary of Bangladesh's Victory Day, commemorating the surrender of the Pakistani armed forces to the Indo-Bangladeshi High Command and the end of the Bangladesh Liberation War. Yeah, we didn't pay much attention to history in high school, but when it comes to finding reasons to celebrate the world's most beautiful women, we leave no stone unturned. So, as Bangladesh celebrates its glorious creation, we celebrate the its most beautiful female citizens with our gallery of the 10 hottest Bangladeshi women. Salute!

#10. Shimla

Hometown: Dhaka

Claim to fame: Shimla made a big industry debut with her National Award-winning role in Madame Fuli. Yet a slew of mediocre roles and Dhallywood's quest to cast a Megan Fox-type in every film pushed her from the the public's consciousness. Finally, with her latest role in Leelakhela, people are taking notice of actual talent.

#9. Nusrat Imroz Tisha

Hometown: Dhaka

Claim to fame: Despite her work as an actress, these days, the only thing the Dhallywood community is keeping tabs on is her wedding to famous Bangladeshi director Mustofa Farooki. See, the culture of the industry across the ocean isn't so foreign to us after all.

#8. Ratna

Hometown: Dhaka

Claim to fame: You can't Google this actress' name without seeing the word "hot" on at least three of the links. But fall back playboy—just 'cause you got a boat and a nice jacket don't mean she's down for a roll in the hay, you dig?

#7. Richi Solaiman

Hometown: Dhaka

Claim to fame: She's all over the Bangladesh entertainment industry, from drama series to film to natok (a Bangladeshi form of theater) to being a spokeswoman for Fair and Lovely. At this point, we're surprised she hasn't designed her own clothing line yet.

#6. Joya Ahsan

Hometown: Dhaka

Claim to fame: Joya to the world! Ahsan's a true Renaissance woman: actress (with nine dramas under her belt), a visual artist, and a musician. She's like the Bangla Cher, except one of her "triple threats" isn't "mannish voice."

#5. Sadika Parvin Popy

Hometown: Dhaka

Claim to fame: Known to the country as "Popy," the self-proclaimed "mysterious" Amar Gor amar Beshto actress' reality may be more intriguing than the films she's in. The presently-unmarried Popy once eloped with her actor-boyfriend Shakil Kahn only to have their marriage forced into divorce by her overbearing mother. Someone give her an Oscar for her life.

#4. Shabnur

Hometown: Dhaka

Claim to fame: The once-noted "nation's idol" gained fame through her acclaimed films such as Mayer Marjada, Dui Bodhu Ek Shami, and Shesh Thikana. Ok, we don't know what those titles actually mean, but they sound like box office hits to us!

#3. Sadia Jahan Prova

Hometown: Dhaka

Claim to fame: Consider her the Kim Kardashian of Bangladesh, complete with a modeling portfolio and a scandal-ridden, career-boosting sextape.

#2. Apu Biswas

Hometown: Borguna

Claim to fame: Apu's career struggled to take off initially, and she was overshadowed by more established Bangla actresses. So, 50 Cent-style, she disappeared from the industry almost completely before returning to PWN Bangladeshi cinema with Koti takar Kabi. Vengeance, thy name is Apu!

#1. Nabila Karim

Hometown: Dhaka

Claim to fame: Nabila is one of Bangladesh's top models. We don't have to explain why she tops this list, but if you ever meet her (by some kind of crazy divine intervention) and would like some talking points, here are a few suggestions: she's worked for Igloo ice cream, Aarong, Singer, and Women's World. Now get to scripting!
