News flash: Tyler Perry does not like Spike Lee, and he's voiced his frustrations towards the Brooklyn, New York, filmmaker once again.

Perry, who wrote, directed, and stars in Madea's Big Happy Family (opening this weekend), has been engaged in a war of words with Lee ever since Lee called Perry's work "coonery" and "buffonery" a year ago.

Responding to the disses at a press conference in Beverly Hills, Perry let his anger show.

"I'm so sick of hearing about damn Spike Lee," Perry said during a press conference on Tuesday, as reported by Box Office Magazine. "Spike can go straight to hell! You can print that. I am sick of him talking about me, I am sick of him saying, 'This is a coon; this is a buffoon.' I am sick of him talking about black people going to see movies. This is what he said: 'You vote by what you see,' as if black people don't know what they want to see."

Clearly frustrated, Perry added that he doesn't understand why a lot of the criticism aimed at him comes from fellow African-Americans. It probably has little to do with race as much as it has to do with the cheapness his brand of cinema offers.

The man born Emmitt Perry Jr. previously slang shots in Lee's direction during an October interview with CBS' 60 Minutes, saying he was "insulted" and "pissed off" by Lee's comments..

In celebration of today's green holiday, let us heed the words of Rodney King: "Can we all just get along?"

Madea's Big Happy Family, co-starring Isaiah Mustafa, Lauren London, Bow Wow, and Jill Scott, opens in theaters this Friday.
