It's only right that we prepare for the next year's whirlwind of political coverage with an extensive look at The 50 Hottest Women in Politics. Vote or die!

RELATED: The 100 Hottest Women Right Now

Michele Bachmann

50. Michele Bachmann

Office: Congresswoman from Minnesota
Party: Republican
Why You Should Vote For Her: She's your crazy ex-girlfriend in political form. You know the one – seemed normal when you first met her, but over time you realized that she does not live on the same planet as the rest of us. The sex was good though.

Cristina Fernadez de Kirchner

49. Cristina Fernadez de Kirchner

Office: President of Argentina
Party: Justicialist
Why You Should Vote For Her: She's a fashion icon who has been known to be late for meetings with other world leaders because she took too long to get ready.

Mary Taylor

48. Mary Taylor

Office: Lieutenant Governor of Ohio
Party: Republican
Why You Should Vote For Her: She's the human shield of pulchritude wielded by Ohio's deeply unpopular and governor John Kasich. Kasich's disapproval rating is around 54%; you have to think it would be higher if there weren't something about Mary. This seems to be the current Republican strategy – put a total dick in the top job but soften him up with a distractingly pretty lieutenant. See also Rebecca Kleefisch of Wisconsin and Jennifer Carroll of Florida.

Jennifer Carroll

47. Jennifer Carroll

Office: Lieutenant Governor of Florida
Party: Republican
Why You Should Vote For Her: Rosie the Riveter? How about Jenny the Jet Mechanic. Carroll was in the Navy for 20 years and as an Aviation Machinist Mate fiddled with the nuts and bolts that kept pretty boys like Maverick, Goose, Iceman and Slider aloft. Today she does her best to distract Floridians from their deepregret for having elected Rick Scott.

Jill Rowland

46. Jill Rowland

Office: Unsuccessful Candidate for Congress from New York
Party: Republican
Why You Should Vote For Her: Dentist Rowland, 41, went up against 80-year-old Louise Slaughter and did not win. But there's always next time. Or the time after that. Seriously, the lady is 80, she has to retire at some point.

Gretchen Whitmer

45. Gretchen Whitmer

Office: State Senator for Michigan
Party: Democrat
Why You Should Vote For Her: This 40-year-old state senate Democratic Leader is likely to go on to bigger things -- she was the favorite to win the party's nomination for attorney general, but dropped out to spend more time with her kids. Could this be a Democratic anti-Palin on the rise?

Judy Chu

44. Judy Chu

Office: Congresswoman from California
Party: Democrat
Why You Should Vote For Her: She's the first Chinese American woman ever elected to Congress. If you are one of the roughly 90% of men who have an Asian fetish, Judy is your girl in DC.

Maria Cantwell

43. Maria Cantwell

Office: Senator from Washington
Party: Democrat
Why You Should Vote For Her: She famously faced off against powerful Alaska Senator Ted Stevens over drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. He's this old dude who's like “I'm gonna drill there,” and she's this gutsy hottie who's like “no you ain't, mister” and then kicks him in the balls. Well, that's not exactly how it happened.

Condolezza Rice

42. Condolezza Rice

Office: National Security Advisor, Secretary of State
Party: Republican
Why You Should Vote For Her: She drove an obsessed Gaddafi to create scrapbooks, a video, and commission a theme song, “Black Flower in the White House,” in her honor. Who are we to argue with a man of such taste?

Kirsten Gillibrand

41. Kirsten Gillibrand

Office: Senator from New York
Party: Democrat
Why You Should Vote For Her: Majority leader Harry Reid says she's the “hottest member” of the Senate. Really, he did, at a fund raiser at NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg's house.

Vera Lischka

40. Vera Lischka

Office: Austrian Member of Parliament
Party: Social Democrat
Why You Should Vote For Her: She competed as a swimmer in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. Her event? Why, quite naturally it was the -- wait for it -- breast stroke.

Stephanie Herseth Sandlin

39. Stephanie Herseth Sandlin

Office: Former Congresswoman from South Dakota
Party: Democrat
Why You Should Vote For Her: She was the hottest Congresswoman until Kristi Noem came along and defeated her; now she's the hottest former Congresswoman. What will she do next? Will she run for Governor? And will Kristi Noem show up to run against her? Will these two political glamazons keep slugging it out, year after year, tit for tat, Cheetah vs. Wonder Woman, mud-slinging and jello-wrestling all the way? We can only hope. Yay South Dakota! Who knew?

Rebecca Kleefisch

38. Rebecca Kleefisch

Office: Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin
Party: Republican
Why You Should Vote For Her: Not because she's a Tea Party favorite; not because she's a “mama grizzly;” not because she feels gay marriage puts us on the road to bestiality. Those are partisan issues – what's not partisan is the fact she had a tumor removed from her colon 12 days before the 2010 election, which she and running mate Scott Walker won.

Julia Gillard

37. Julia Gillard

Office: Prime Minister of Australia
Party: Australian Labor
Why You Should Vote For Her: Australia's first female Prime Minister charmed the pants off U.S. lawmakers when she addressed a joint session of Congress earlier this year. Her speech was interrupted by applause 16 times, and concluded with the sound of hundreds of people putting their pants back on in unison.

Nikki Tinker

36. Nikki Tinker

Office: Unsuccessful Candidate for Congress from Tennessee
Party: Democrat
Why You Should Vote For Her: Hold on here, we're not saying anyone should vote for, or should have voted for, Nikki Tinker. In 2008 she ran against Steve Cohen in the Democratic primary (the de facto election as there was no chance of serious Republican opposition) and she looked viable because some black Christian leaders in the majority-black district never quite warmed to their white Jewish representative. So it was a race thing – it was always a race thing – but the trick is you can't come out and say it's a race thing. When Tinker ran ads that tried to link Cohen to the KKK and suggested he was against prayer in school because he's Jewish, the national media called her out on it and her supporters and endorsers went cold on her. Still, she was hot.

Holly Benson

35. Holly Benson

Office: Former member of Florida House of Representatives
Party: Republican
Why You Should Vote For Her: From 2000-2006, she served in the Florida State House of Representatives, but where it gets interesting is her bid for attorney general in 2010. She finished third, losing to the incredibly hot Pam Bondi. The political Lucky Pierre was a guy named Jeff Kottkamp, whose second-place finish made him the meat in a legislative uber-babe sandwich that may never be topped.

Jennifer Granholm

34. Jennifer Granholm

Office: Former Governor of Michigan
Party: Democrat
Why You Should Vote For Her: She was Miss San Carlos (California) in her teens, wanted to be a Hollywood actress, and competed on The Dating Game. This politics business happened for awhile; starting in January she'll be ready for her closeup nightly on the Current TV show “The War Room with Jennifer Granholm.” Feel free to watch in your underwear.

Lynn Jenkins

33. Lynn Jenkins

Office: Congresswoman from Kansas
Party: Republican
Why You Should Vote For Her: She describes herself as a "free-market girl," which sounds awfully slutty.

Nikki Haley

32. Nikki Haley

Office: Governor of South Carolina
Party: Republican
Why You Should Vote For Her: Not one but two dudes stepped forward while she was campaigning with tales of her marital infidelity; she was elected anyway. Commentators muttered she's the female Bill Clinton, and apparently we are just fine with that.

Angelina Sondakh

31. Angelina Sondakh

Office: Indonesian Member of Parliament
Party: Democrat
Why You Should Vote For Her: Some female politicians are attractive, others are literally beauty queens -- as a former Miss Universe Indonesia, Angelina falls into the latter category. She serves on the budget committee in Indonesia's House of Representatives and is currently involved in a scandal involving bribery and the SEA Games.

Kelly Ayotte

30. Kelly Ayotte

Office: Senator from New Hampshire
Party: Republican
Why You Should Vote For Her: Of all the hot young(ish) things exciting the Republican base these days, Ayotte is the most formidable. She's the only woman out of the Senate's freshman class of 2010, and she doesn't need to write her talking points on the back of her hand.

Kristi Noem

29. Kristi Noem

Office: Congresswoman from South Dakota
Party: Republican
Why You Should Vote For Her: She won a January “Hottest Freshman in Congress” poll conducted by the Huffington Post, she's still working on her bachelor's degree (the impressive 21-year-plan) and she drives like a bat out of hell (27 driving citations, 20 of them for speeding, and two arrest warrants issued).

Mary Bono Mack

28. Mary Bono Mack

Office: Congresswoman from California
Party: Republican
Why You Should Vote For Her: The legend of Sonny Bono grows. The goofy guy from Sonny & Cher ended up a U.S. Congressman, then died in office; voters picked his much-younger fourth wife Mary to succeed him. And why not – she was 38 and hot! Now 50, she's continuing to hold up as a rock star's fourth wife should, which is very well.

Mande Wilkes

27. Mande Wilkes

Office: Candidate for Congress from South Carolina
Party: Republican
Why You Should Vote For Her: Author, blogger and local TV personality, Mandy has just announced she'll run for Congess in 2012 (she ran unsuccessfully in 2010) and if elected promises to resolve the never-asked question "who has the bigest boobs in Congress?"

Sara Latife Ruiz

26. Sara Latife Ruiz

Office: Deputy in the Mexican Congress
Party: Institutional Revolutionary Party
Why You Should Vote For Her: In 2007 she ran for General Secretary of her party's National Executive Council, but lost to Beatrice Paredes. We couldn't believe it either -- have you seen Beatrice Paredes? Bit of a heifer.

Anna-Maria Galojan

25. Anna-Maria Galojan

Office: Political Scientist
Party: None
Why You Should Vote For Her: We're not quite sure what this one does in her country, Estonia. (And come to think of it, we're not sure we could find Estonia on a map.) She's some sort of academic/political scientist/adviser/official. Whatever. The important thing is, when she was accused of stealing from the government, she proved her innocence by posing for Playboy.

Tzipi Hotovely

24. Tzipi Hotovely

Office: Member of Knesset
Party: Likud
Why You Should Vote For Her: She's a religious right-winger within her own country's political scene, but you don't have to know your current events to know this: "Tzipi Hotovely" is spelled almost the same as "Zippy Hot 'n Lovely," which is a perfect description of her.

Sarah Palin

23. Sarah Palin

Office: Former Governor of Alaska, former Vice Presidential candidate
Party: Republican
Why You Should Vote For Her: Nobody knew who she was before John McCain tapped her to be his running mate, but once we saw her we all concurred that she was the most tappable veep candidate in history. She is the greatest example of just how far you can get in American politics based on looks and flirty sass. Even today, more than two years after she left office, she remains the Republican wet dream of choice.

Toireasa Ferris

22. Toireasa Ferris

Office: Member of Kerry County Council and Tralee Town Council (Ireland)
Party: Sinn Fein
Why You Should Vote For Her: Her career looks a bit local, but her father is a member of the Irish parliament and few would be surprised if Toireasa went on to become a national figure. She ran for election to the European Parliament but didn't make the cut.

Segolene Royal

21. Segolene Royal

Office: Former candidate for the French presidency; President of Poitou-Charentes
Party: Socialist
Why You Should Vote For Her: Came damn close to being elected President of France while her relationship with her baby-daddy (and Socialist Party heavyweight; he is the party's 2012 presidential nominee) was going to merde.

Rathika Sitsabaiesan

20. Rathika Sitsabaiesan

Office: Canadian Member of Parliament
Party: New Democratic
Why You Should Vote For Her: She's currently the youngest member of Parliament, and the first of Tamil heritage to be elected -- but here on the internet she's mainly known as the politician whose official portrait was Photoshopped to remove excessive cleavage.

Sitrida Geagea

19. Sitrida Geagea

Office: Lebanese Member of Parliament
Party: Lebanese Forces
Why You Should Vote For Her: Sethrida is now in her second term as a member of the Lebanese parliament; her husband, Samir Geagea, is a senior figure in the Lebanese Forces who was imprisoned in solitary confinement for 11 years. The one thing that kept him going, we hear, was the hope that his wife would someday be named one of the world's sexiest politicians.

Pam Bondi

18. Pam Bondi

Office: Attorney General of Florida
Party: Republican
Why You Should Vote For Her: She's Attorney General Barbie! The lead AG in the charge to overturn President Obama's health care legislation, Bondi once reasoned that poor people could keep their own health care costs down because they have more time to go running. Only if you help us stretch out first, Pam.

Luciana Leon

17. Luciana Leon

Office: Peruvian Congresswoman
Party: Peruvian Aprista Party
Why You Should Vote For Her: She was a loyal servant to the Aprista Party in her early teens, an age when most girls are more into parties of the pajama and surprise variety. Although the Aprista Party might pick up more of the youth vote if it called itself the Pajama Surprise Party. Just an idea.

Joanna Mucha

16. Joanna Mucha

Office: Polish Member of Parliament
Party: Civic Platform
Why You Should Vote For Her: She famously posed for a magazine cover wearing a tight tank top and suspenders, holding a pistol—yes, she's the Lara Croft of Poland's lower house of parliament.

Michelle Obama

15. Michelle Obama

Office: First Lady
Party: Democrat
Why You Should Vote For Her: President Obama's term has been so much more enjoyable thanks to the beautiful woman at his side. We never understand why the press tried to give the woman who's aiming to keep our nation's children in-shape so much flack for showing her arms in most of her designer gowns. Flaunt 'em if you got 'em, Michelle!

Eva Kaili

14. Eva Kaili

Office: Greek Member of Parliament
Party: Panhellenic Socialist Movement
Why You Should Vote For Her: Consider this: She is a former TV newscaster, and during that phase of her career she was considered one of the country's hottest newscasters. And even a homely newscaster is many times hotter than your average female politician.

Julia Bonk

13. Julia Bonk

Office: Member of Saxony state parliament
Party: Left Party
Why You Should Vote For Her: How young is too young for politics? Julia's election, at the age of 18, to the Saxony state parliament asked just that question. Now, after seven years in the game, she's a grizzled veteran, although she masks her grizzle with a patina of youthful hotness.

Belinda Stronach

12. Belinda Stronach

Office: Former Canadian Member of Parliament
Party: Liberal
Why You Should Vote For Her: She was elected as a Conservative, but they creeped her out so she joined the Liberals.

Ruby Dhalla

11. Ruby Dhalla

Office: Former Canadian Member of Parliament
Party: Liberal
Why You Should Vote For Her: She appeared in a low-budget Hindi film before becoming Canada's political "It Girl" -- when slightly sexy shots from the production began making the rounds, she claimed the pictures were her head on someone else's body. Riiiight. We've heard that one before, Ruby.

Mercedes Araoz

10. Mercedes Araoz

Office: Former Minister of Foreign Commerce and Tourism
Party: Peruvian Aprista Party
Why You Should Vote For Her: About a year ago, Mercedes was prepping for a presidential run, but she withdrew her candidacy after just a couple of months. What's the matter, Araoz, pollo? No, actually she resigned in protest over the actions of her party.

Yulia Tymoshenko

9. Yulia Tymoshenko

Office: Former Ukrainian Prime Minister
Party: All Ukrainian Union Fatherland
Why You Should Vote For Her: Yulia was prime minister, twice. Her party is this "Fatherland" business, but it's just part of a grander coalition calling itself Bloc Yulia Tymoshenko. Yes, she has her own bloc. Yulia became hugely wealthy from the oil industry in the 1990s and went on to become the Deputy Prime Minister for Fuel and Energy in the cabinet of Viktor Yuschenko. Her lifelong affiliation with the oil and gas industry has earned her the nickname "The Gas Princess." In 2004, she joined forces with Yuschenko in leading the Orange Revolution. Her career has always been riddled with controversy, but it's the Ukraine, a former Soviet Socialist Republic—even the good guys are a little bit bad. However, things have taken a drastic turn for Lady Yu recently—in October, she was found guilty of abuse of power and sentenced to seven years in prison. The United States, Russia, the UN and Amnesty International have all condemned the verdict as "way harsh given that she's such a hottie."

Christine Kelly

8. Christine Kelly

Office: Conseil Superieur de L'Audio-Visuel
Party: Union for a Popular Movement
Why You Should Vote For Her: This Guadeloupe-born beauty is the hottest politician on this list who is not actually a politician. See, what happened was, she was a TV presenter and author who charmed the hell out of Nicolas Sarkozy when she met him. Speculation ran wild that she would get the government gig of dealing with France's overseas territoties. She didn't get that job, and now works for the Conseil Superieur de L'Audio-Visuel, but has stated that she may get into politics.

Elizabeth Halseth

7. Elizabeth Halseth

Office: Nevada State Senator
Party: Republican
Why You Should Vote For Her: She's 28, Republican, and has been in office for a year. All we can confirm at this time is that she is hot. Repeat: She is hot.

Yuri Fujikawa

6. Yuri Fujikawa

Office: Hachinohe city assemblywoman
Party: Liberal Democratic Club
Why You Should Vote For Her: She's just a hot babe who sits on a city council, but that hasn't stopped the Japanese and world media from giving her the A-list treatment. She put out a book of photos and accompanying video that proved she was a sexy politician and had some Japanese claiming she is too sexy for politics. "Too sexy for politics" -- we're not sure that's possible, but it's a catchy phrase.

Carla Bruni

5. Carla Bruni

Office: First Lady of the French Republic
Party: Union for a Popular Movement
Why You Should Vote For Her: The Italian-French model, musician, and actress, and model married French president Nicolas Sarkozy in 2008. Controversy brewed when nude photos from her modeling past surfaced, but if anything, that just made us like her more. Looking hot naked should never have a negative impact on your political career.

Eunice Olsen

4. Eunice Olsen

Office: Former Singaporean Member of Parliament
Party: None
Why You Should Vote For Her: After winning the Miss Singapore Universe pageant, Eunice served as an NMP -- nominated member of parliament -- which means that she was hand-picked by the President to add a little variety to the drab business of representative government. And we don't have the data to back this up, but we're fairly sure this is the hottest woman ever named Eunice.

Cayetana Alvarez de Toledo

3. Cayetana Alvarez de Toledo

Office: Spanish Member of Parliament

Mara Rosaria Carfagna

2. Mara Rosaria Carfagna

Office: Italian Minister for Equal Opportunity
Party: The People of Freedom
Why You Should Vote For Her: We could say a lot about Mara -- there is a lot to say, that's for sure -- but perhaps the basic facts from Wikipedia make the best case: "Maria Rosaria (Mara) Carfagna (born December 18, 1975 in Salerno) is an Italian politician and former showgirl and topless model." There you go. Boy, that Silvio Berlusconi sure can pick 'em.

Alina Kabaeva

1. Alina Kabaeva

Office: Deputy in the Russian State Duma
Party: United Russia
Why You Should Vote For Her: In 2004, she won an Olympic gold medal in rhythmic gymnastics at the Olympics; three years later she was an elected member of the Duma, with rumors flying that she was going to marry Vladimir Putin. She's been on the cover of Russian Vogue, Maxim and FHM.
