Wouldn't it be cool to gather four fascinating individuals to weigh in on matters of mutual interest? Well, that's exactly what we've done. Here, Danny Pudi (the star of the NBC sitcom Community), Louis Leterrier (the director of Now You See Me), actor/musician Nat Wolff (the star of the upcoming Stuck in Love, out July 5th), and rap impresario RiFF RAFF remember injuries, sunburns, fascinating friends, and aliens. Behold, our latest edition of Talking Heads.
When was the last time you got sunburned?
Danny Pudi: I have the gift of melanin, so I usually just get dark. But it can happen. The last time I was in Palm Desert I got a little burnt on my chest and back.
Louis Leterrier: We were filming Clash of the Titans on a volcano 7,000 feet above sea level. I didn’t realize I was burning until six layers of skin fell off my nose.
Nat Wolff: Last Christmas, I was in Mexico with my family. My brother and my mom got really tan but my dad and I got red.
RiFF RAFF: I don’t, because my skin is naturally golden-brown. Either it can get more golden, like a honey-glazed color, or it can get butterscotch-boss.
Do you believe in aliens?
Danny Pudi: Growing up as a mixed-race kid, you’re always hoping that there’s something weirder than you out there, so that people will be nicer to you. And so, yes, I do.
Louis Leterrier: Of course! I saw an image of a solar flare that was 200,000 times the size of Earth. We’re lucky to be alive. We need aliens to give us technology—the universe is a death trap!
Nat Wolff: I’m pretty sure my math teacher is an alien. He’s a great guy, but when you meet him, he screams extraterrestrial.
RiFF RAFF: There’s got to be something out there. We don’t understand the galaxy or dimensions. What’s past Pluto? It’s not like you hit a wall after that.
Have you ever broken a bone?
Danny Pudi: I broke my collarbone playing football during my sophomore year of high school. It was proof that I did not need to be on the football field, the confirmation that I’m a fragile person.
Louis Leterrier: I was shooting The Incredible Hulk at a military base and got so angry that I kicked a wall. Unfortunately, the wall was 10 feet of concrete and it shattered my foot. I guess you could say I Hulked out.
Nat Wolff: I’ve broken seven fingers playing basketball. I had to give up the sport because I play piano. I had to choose one.
RiFF RAFF: I fractured my hand punching a wall at basketball practice, but nothing more.
Who’s the most interesting person you’ve ever met?
Danny Pudi: Dan Harmon, the creator of Community. He’s been a part of the biggest change in my life, career-wise. His twisted, beautiful, and honest view of humanity is fascinating. I’ve never met anyone like him.
Louis Leterrier: It changes depending on where I’m shooting. I love living in L.A. but the people there always talk about the same things. When you shoot on location, you meet people with different stories and lives.
Nat Wolff: Jane Fonda. You could bring up any of your favorite musicians and actors from her heyday, and she would have some story about how they hit on her at a party or slept in her basement for a month.
RiFF RAFF: Betty White. She’s always happy. She’s 150 years old and she just keeps on going.
