Since her Transformers debacle, many critics were willing to write the actress off as a has-been hottie who hit her prime in a misogynistic Michael Bay movie. Now, thanks to casting news that pits Megan Fox against longtime rival Lindsay Lohan, she's being seen as actress again. Not to mention, her likeness to Taylor alone trumps the former teen idol.

Not only is Fox revamping her career with a low-key romantic comedy that isn't entirely focused on her sexuality, but she's doing so with a stellar cast of respectable, scandal-free actors and actresses. The film's credits include Maya Rudolph, Kristen Wiig, Chris O'Dowd and Jon Hamm, all fresh off the success of Bridesmaids and whose fanbase is clamoring for another comedy. By mixing Fox in with such a watchable group of actors, we wouldn't be surprised if the audiences begins thinking of Fox as equally in-demand.

From her ongoing deal with Armani and her CCAA commercial to her upcoming ad with a Turkish potato chips brand and her new Oscars 2012 promo with host Billy Crystal, her endorsements suggest that the public responds to Megan Fox. The fact that she was enlisted to promote the most prestigious awards show in the entire world gives off the sense that people actually want to see her and are moving past the plastic surgery jokes.

In the Sacha Baron Cohen parody, a follow-up to his famous mockumentaries Borat and Bruno, Megan Fox will make fun of herself. As the trailer has shown, Fox subjects herself to sexual favors and even takes jabs at an equally criticized group of famed gorgeous people, the Kardashians. By doing so, Fox shows that she isn't entirely oblivious to the public opinion of her and, rather than seeming upset by it, actually empathizes with the audience. Thanks to The Dictator, audiences will be laughing with Megan Fox and not at her.

Few directors can give an actress credibility with as diverse of an audience as Judd Apatow. This down-to-earth comedy will hopefully off-set Fox's sexuality and help her be taken more seriously as a real actress rather than the laughable femme-fatale her career seemed to be heading towards with her earlier work.
