After being arrested in June, Glenn Mangham, 25-year-old Englishman, was released on bail earlier this week for illegally accessing Facebook’s servers multiple times back in April.
Facebook claims no user data was jacked, though, Mangham may have come dangerously close to finding the social network’s source code—he repeatedly accessed FB’s “Phabricator” server, used by the company’s software developers to communicate and develop new programs.
With a precedent set by Mangham, other hackers, primarily Anonymous, just might have the motivation—and approach now—for another go at FB’s valued source code, which, of course, could be leveraged for a king’s ransom given the private information of 700 million users at stake.
