Apple Sent 250 Spies to CES

Ghost recon.

Attending big trade shows like CES isn’t just an opportunity to show off your company’s latest and greatest, but to also size up in the competition in plain view. Apple, though, doesn’t show at CES, so any employees in Vegas would be doing some reconnaissance work.

As it turns out, Apple registered a sizable 250 employees to roam the convention floors, a small fact which leaked out once digital content blog Paid Content’s Tom Krazit bumped into Greg Joswiak, head of Apple’s iOS product marketing, who according to Krazit, “grinned sheepishly upon being recognized.”

So yeah, maybe Apple isn’t exactly staying in the shadows—after all, every company needs to know what everyone’s up to.
