Young Han Solo Alden Ehrenreich Unintentionally Revealed How Many 'Star Wars' Films He's Doing

'Solo: A Star Wars Story' is set to release on May 25.

There has never been a better time to be a Star Wars fan than right now, with the next installment in the franchise, Solo, arriving less than six months after The Last Jedi.

The prequel focuses on young Han Solo, played by 28-year-old Alden Ehrenreich. In a recent interview for the cover of Esquire, the Los Angeles native unintentionally revealed he’s set to appear in two more Star Wars films after Solo.

Esquire writer Alex Pappademas says in the piece, “He knows what he’s getting into. It’s a deeper commitment than just one movie. Even [Harrison] Ford couldn’t quit after just one. I ask Ehrenreich how many he’s signed up for. ‘Three,’ he says, then flinches, understanding he may have just created a disturbance in the Force. ‘I don’t know if that’s officially, uh, public. But—yeah.’”

While signing on for plural films is typical for franchises, Ehrenreich's remarks are the first evidence of young Han Solo starring in multiple films. Solo will explore the eponymous smuggler’s backstory, loaded with appearances from the Millennium Falcon, Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover), and, finally, thanks to Thandie Newton, a black woman in a primary role.
